Ruled by Emperor Hirohito, whom the Japanese worship as a god. They believe he is a supreme being and that one must do whatever he says. 

 

Honor is very important to them. Most of them believed that it is better to kill yourself than be captured, or be dishonored in any way through defeat. 

 

They wanted to expand the empire just like Britain and the US did. They called themselves the Empire of the Rising Sun.

 

They value Japanese traditions, honor, family, the emperor, and their country. 

 

They think they should be able to establish their own colonies and empires just like other European nations have done so before. 

 

The nation is highly militaristic and industrialized.  

 

A lot of their propaganda attacks "western" culture. They are portrayed as inferior, weak, dishonorable, and overly decadent.
